We're coming back! Thanks for your patience – we're so excited to share our new app with you. This is a long thread but it involves money (hopefully your money!) so please read it!

Here's the plan:

–We're relaunching on Monday! The new app is already on the App Store and Google Play store, but is currently paused. Please update the app before Monday and make sure your friends do the same, as the old version of the app won't be able to make or receive calls. We will unpause on Monday.

–We have a new payout formula that gives you 3 chances to earn money: Money Talks, prizes, and referrals:

Money Talks: We've heard from lots of you that you wanted more control over how much you got paid. With the new version of the app, you decide your per-minute rate, which you can set as high as 1 dollar/minute and as low as 15 cents/minute. With this new formula, we won't be able to pay you for every call. Instead, we will send you a notification when it's time for a Money Talk, where we pay you the rate you selected. Being a great user of the app (making lots of calls and referrals) and setting a lower payout amount will help you get more money talks.

Prizes: You won't get paid automatically for the calls where it's not a Money Talk. Instead, you'll be eligible for our prizes! We offer $100 for Caller of the Day, $1,000 for Caller of the Week, $10,000 for Caller of the Month, and $100,000 for Caller of the Year. (Yes, you can make $100,000 for talking on the phone!). The criteria for winning are making great calls with clear audio (make sure to avoid too much background noise, and try not to move the phone around too much when you talk) and natural conversations (don't try to game the system with fake calls – even one or two of those makes it a lot harder to win a prize in the future). Making lots of referrals definitely helps, as well as speaking in other languages that you're fluent in. Bonus points if you code switch – we love Spanglish and Hinglish!

Referrals: Just like before, you have the chance to make money from referring your friends. You'll make 20% of your referrals' call earnings, up to a limit of $100/day. If you successfully refer at least 100 people (a successful referral means they downloaded the app and made a phone call), then your referral earnings become unlimited! So we definitely recommend that you refer all your friends!

–With the old version of our app, we had daily limits on call earnings and referral earnings (total of $54). With the new version, there's no limits on call earnings, and there's a $100 limit on referral earnings.

–With the old version of the app, we would enforce our daily limits on earnings, as well as fraud prevention, at cash out. This meant that the amount you saw in your account was not the amount you'd be able to cash out (and please bear with us one more time as we do this process for your earnings from November). With the new version of the app, we do this all in real time – so what you see in your account is what you get! Since we're doing this right after your call ends, you'll see your call listed as "Processing" for a few minutes.

–Finally, as a sneak preview of our new prize-based payout formula, and because you guys are our OGs, we're going to give out $1,000 prizes to 10 of you who have been our best users of the app! Those will be revealed on Monday so check the app that night to see if you won.
